In the first part of this series, I reviewed the integration kit, and supported configuration and other environment considerations. In this article, I will review the steps for installing the HPE SCOM Integration kit. The high-level steps for installing the SCOM Integration Kit management packs include:
- Launching the kit installer
- Installing the Device Monitor Service (DMS)
- Installing the Device Monitor Console (DMC)
- Review the Component pre-requisites referenced in the first part of the series.
- On a SCOM console machine, start the installation from the OneView for Microsoft System Center image by executing autorun.hta. Click HP SCOM Integration Kit (x64) or HP SCOM Integration Kit (x86).
3. Follow the wizard steps. On the Select features to install step, select Management Packs, and click Next, and Install.
Note the installation directory, and review the management packs.
Installing the Device Monitor Service (DMS)
- Review the Component pre-requisites referenced in the first part of the series.
- On one or more SCOM agent-managed machines, start the installation from the OneView
for Microsoft System Center image by executing autorun.hta. Click HP SCOM Integration
Kit (x64) or HP SCOM Integration Kit (x86).
3. Follow the wizard steps. On the Select features to install step, select HP Device Monitor Service and click Next, and Install.
After the setup completes, You can now see that the service is installed and running on the SCOM Agent computer.
We can also see that the SNMP Trap service is running on the DMS.
Installing the Device Monitor Console (DMC)
- Review the Component pre-requisites referenced in the first part of the series.
- On one or more SCOM agent-managed machines, start the installation from the OneView
for Microsoft System Center image by executing autorun.hta. Click HP SCOM Integration
Kit (x64) or HP SCOM Integration Kit (x86). - Follow the wizard steps. On the Select features to install step, select HP Device Monitor Console, and click Next, and Install.
NOTE: Optionally, select Tools if you’d like to install the Custom Data Manager (CDM) for manually specifying additional information for an ProLiant Windows server.
